Winter can be an especially hard time for young people. Cold, grey days often mean being stuck indoors, sometimes in unsafe or isolating environments. For rangatahi already carrying the weight of anxiety, loneliness or pressure, it can feel like there’s no way out.

Our rangatahi deserve support now. Young people like Avery, who reached out to us after years of struggling with their anxiety in secret. Read Avery’s story here.

Your donation makes it possible for a trained Helpline Team Member to be there in those crucial moments, listening without judgment, offering real support, and reminding them they are not alone.

This winter, help us meet young people where they are and walk with them towards brighter days. We proudly offer free 24/7 support, for all rangatahi of Aotearoa.

Avery's Story

“I feel so hopeless and numb... I NEED HELP.”

That’s what Avery* told us when they reached out, overwhelmed by anxiety and feeling invisible.

They’d tried talking to a caregiver but were told “everyone has a bit of anxiety.” Instead of feeling heard, Avery was left questioning if they were just overreacting.

At school, Avery spent breaks alone in the library, bottling up emotions hidden for years. When Avery finally messaged us, it was a cry for support they weren't getting anywhere else.

Because of people like you, someone was there to listen - really listen, without judgment.

Your donation today helps ensure we’re there for young people like Avery, right at the moment they need it most.
